888.com Group Gets GamCare Certification
Pacific Poker, a popular online poker site, is again growing and this week received a GamCare certification. GameCare is the UK's leading authority on problem gambling. The 888.com group which Pacific Poker is apart, has launched 888responsible.com, a social responsibility web site coinciding with the certification.
The new site offers a lot of information and details about responsible gambling. Visitors will be able to get information concerning dealing with problem gambling, preventing under age gambling and charity activity. There is a place for parents to learn how to recognize if their children have gambling problems as well as a self assessment form for adults to fill out and see if maybe their gambling habits may be a problem.
As to the reasons why the 888 group received the certification, Andrew Poole, Head of GamCare's online operation,
"We are delighted to award 888 with our certification as a mark of their excellent standards of practice. GamCare has a commitment to promote responsible attitudes to gambling, and we recognise the importance of acknowledging those organisations that have attained high standards of social responsibility and player protection, issues that are becoming increasingly important for any remote gambling operator."
Poole also added, "GamCare recognises the good work 888.com has achieved in producing an informative site that aims to not only help people keep their gambling in control, but that also identifies how people can access support for themselves or someone else who may be affected by a gambling problem."
