DTD Trying to be UK's First Legal Poker Club
Nottingham Magistrate Court will be the place on Sept 24th that will decide if Dusk Till Dawn (DTD) will become UK's first legal poker club.
Europe's largest card room is having the license challenged Gala, Stanleys and London Club International, three area casinos objecting on the grounds of "insufficient demand."
"This has nothing to do with ‘insufficient demand'; it's just an attempt by the big boys to keep a stranglehold on their monopoly. They only care about profits and not about their players," Said Rob Yong of DTD.
It will be up to three magistrates that are presiding over the case to give their verdict on the case but that is not expected to happen until the next four days.
A Certificate of Consent has already been given to the club which is a big step in getting a casino license. DTD is the first club to ever get the Gaming Board's full approval for UK Poker.
If it gets its license DTD will quickly open with a capacity of 405 players, 4 times larger than any other card room in the UK.
The city of Nottingham will also benefit with the creation of nearly 100 new jobs and revenue in the means of additional taxes and more tourism.
