It's Time For The 3rd Annual BC Poker Championships

There are only a few more weeks until the start of the 3rd Annual British Columbia Poker Championships. This year the Championships will have an added feature to their weekly poker tournament - a new ladies only event. The prize pool package is at an impressive estimated $3.6 Million.

In 2005 The British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) in partnership with River Rock Casino Resort began the first BC Poker Championships. That year a Salt Spring Island Player won the grand prize in the inaugural event of $382,000. This year, the top prize in the $3.6 Million prize pool is estimated at $612,500.

Darryl Schiewe, acting VP of online gaming for the British Columbia Lottery Corporation said "British Columbia has become a magnet for North America's best poker players because of the caliber of our tournaments."

The BC Poker Championship begins November 18th with a $500+$50 Ladies Only No Limit Texas Hold'em event. November 19th brings a $1,000+$100 No Limit Texas Hold'em event and on November 20th is a $1,000+$100 Pot Limit Texas Hold'em event. November 21st has a Main Event Super Satellite with the No Limit Texas Hold'em Main Event from November 22nd through November 25th.

The Championships will be held at the River Rock Casino. Satellites are available at participating British Columbia Casinos.
