Jordan Smith Almost Makes WSOP Main Event Final Table
It seems to me one of the hardest finishes to take would be tenth place at the World Series of Poker Main Event. It is the last finish from the November Nine making the player come just shy of earning glory for the year. Jordan Smith of College Station was this year’s player to be busted out in tenth place.
Smith is from College Station and makes his living as a professional poker player. He entered the Main Event with high hopes only to be eliminated by Darvin Moon’s trips eights. Smith held pocket aces and thought the he had the hand in the bag but when Moon got an eight on the board it was all over and he was eliminated in tenth place.
Smith stated he was sick for the final three days of the competition and this could be why he was eliminated in tenth place. He commented: “I was losing my voice, and I was pretty drained; a lot of stuff was going on. My family was definitely both happy and sad for me because I didn’t make the final round. But I’ve been very fortunate this summer, and I’m just glad to be back in Texas. It’s time to take a little break and relax.”
Smith must be tired after competing in over 5,000 poker tournaments over the past little while. Smith played the majority of the tournaments online as well as traveling to Aruba and the Bahamas to compete.
