Man Shot During Poker Game in Toledo
Police are continuing to investigate an incident which happened at a Route 66 bar just before midnight this past Thursday night which occurred after a shooting on Tuesday at the Malibu’s bar. Apparently an argument broke out during a poker game on Tuesday and a player pulled out a handgun and fired one shot which injured an employee of the bar.
Billy Joe Hicks age thirty three was in Malibu’s, the bar in question, when he got into an argument over a poker game. Hicks proceeded to pull out a handgun during the argument and fire a shot. The bullet seems to have hit the floor and then ricochet and in that process it grazed the right forearm of Thomas Phillips who works at the bar.
Hicks was arrested shortly after the shot was fired. Hicks has been charged with felonious assault and is currently being held in jail. During the Thursday night shooting at a Route 66 bar there was a flurry of bullets but no one was injured. At least twenty shots are believed to have been fired as the incident was caught on the video surveillance system. The mayor has closed the bar and police are starting to identify who was involved in the Thursday night shooting.
