NPL Raises Money For Kids
During an off day in the tournament, prior to the Open's Main Event, professional poker players such as Mel Judah another recognized British and International poker superstars participated in a silent auction of various donated items. The choices were wide ranging from a 5-star vacation to Morocco all the way to an intensely fashionable designer shirt. In all 15 companies donated items to the event, which was held in the same location as the tournament, the Loose Cannon Club, in London, England.
Director of Public Relations for the National Poker League, Andy Liakos stated "The National Poker League is highly committed to giving back to the communities in which we are involved and will continue to do so as we cross great distances and endless bounds on our journey."
Following up on the contribution resulting from the event, Cheri Murphy, the Fund Raising Executive for the hospital added "We are so very grateful to the National Poker League and the Loose Cannon Club for their brilliant fund raising efforts. Great Ormond Street Hospital is a world class hospital but needs to raise more than 100 million each year to continue our pioneering work."
It can be clearly seen that as the National Poker League grows, so will the community benefit through their efforts.
