A new study has been conducted by Poker Players Research says that online poker play by females is set to grow by the year 2011. The research found that females count for one in four of real money players currently and are set to continue to grow over the next few years.

Poker pros Vanessa Rousso and Vicky Coren are prime examples for ladies to become more interested in poker and begin to play online. Although their numbers are increasing, women still seem to be taking in less money at the felt because they tend to sit at the online tables for less time than men.

The study found that although this is fact, online poker rooms are working hard to get women to stay online longer. The study found that by 2011 the female poker presence could account for a third of the online poker market.

The study was based on the information found by talking with 13,000 female players living in the United States, Canada and Europe. Glenn Flackett a spokesman for the PPR commented: “Female growth is very important, and is now one of the main issues for operators.”
