Online Poker Enticing to Students

Online poker is taking the UK by storm, as it has become an $8 billion market, and college students world wide are becoming part of this with sites such as studentpokerpro.com that touts its self a place where students are able to use logic and strategy while playing online poker in order to promote their site.

There is also the Harvard Law Professor Charles Nesson whom has been in the news recently for a debate by a club he formed discussing the UIGEA, he has now formed an online university curriculum named Nesson's Global Strategic inking Society. This will promote online poker as a teaching tool, in order to teach strategic thinking, geopolitical analysis, risk assessment and money management. There are several United States universities involved in this and it is possible the UK universities will follow.

Many of these online sites are offering prize packages that will offer poker cruises that will cater to student's breaks from school.

The Edinburgh University Poker Society has tournaments that have £5 and £10 buy-ins where students can play poker in a place that is safe for them, there is a weekly amount that has been set to control compulsive gambling of £10 per week per person as a maximum.
