Owner of the former Betcha.com Extradited
But Jenkins is not the only one facing heat. His business partners Josie Imlay and Peter Abrahamsen are also looking at charges.
Although Jenkins had appealed to the Governor of this home not to allow the extradition to happen just yet as he was waiting for a decision on a Washington State Gambling Board case.
But, that did not seem to push the Governor over to his side as he approved the request from Louisiana. Prosecutors are stating that Betcha.com violated several laws in regards to Internet-based gambling.
Once news broke that Jenkins was ordered back, he and his colleagues voluntarily flew back and turned themselves in to be arrested by the State Police.
Jenkins is still holding firm that because the wagers were against gamblers and that bets were not promised or backed by the site that nothing illegal was done.
If convicted, Jenkins and colleagues could be looking at fines up to $20,000 each and up to five years in prison.
