PPA Poker Tournament Begins Today
The Poker Players Alliance along with the American Gaming Association will be holding a charity poker tournament today that will benefit the Paralyzed Veterans of America.
Around 125 players are expected to participate in the event and more than 200 are expected to attend. A VIP reception will kick off the event at 10:00 till 10:30 and then the poker tournament will begin.
All proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Paralyzed Veterans of America. This organization already received over $60,000 from an earlier PPA function during the Democratic Convention. The event will take place during the Republican National Convention with the goal of raising money as well as creating goodwill among the Republican members.
To enter the tournament players have four options: A Royal Flush Sponsor of $10,000 which gives eight playing seats plus four spectator seats during the tournament, The Full House Sponsor of $5,000 which gives four playing seats plus two spectator seats during the tournament, The Individual Player Seat of $1,000 which gives one seat at the poker table and lastly the Individual Spectator Seat of $250 which gives one spectator seat during the tournament.
Greg Raymer and Victor Ramdin have confirmed their attendance at the event. Raymer won the 2004 World Series of Poker and has also made it to final tables in 2005 and 2006. Raymer won $5 million for his WSOP win and it was only his second WSOP cash out at the time.
Ramdin has cashed out at the WSOP and also reached the final table during a HORSE event this year. Chris Wallace will also be in attendance and he told Poker News Daily that Barry Greenstein will also be there. Wallace teaches poker at PokerXFacter, a poker training site
