Palm Beach Kennel Club Bad Beat Jackpot

Feb 16, 2008

At the Palm Beach Kennel Club's poker room a bad hand may soon turn out to be a very good hand for a unlucky player.  The "bad beat" jackpot at the club has been unclaimed since December 28th and since it is a player fed jackpot it continues to grow and is now almost at $200,000. The near $200,000 jackpot is also close to breaking a record as well.

The jackpot will be claimed when a plater with a nearly unbeatable hand loses to another with an even better hand.  The "loser" of the hand will get 50 percent of the jackpot, the winner gets 25 percent and the rest of the players at the table get to split the remaining 25 percent.

But this payday can be unlikely too, Kennel Club officials estimate that there is a 1 in 112,000 chanced that any given hand will yields a bad beat.  And with nine players occupying each table the odds that any given player could win the bad beat are closer to one in a million.
