Playing Poker for Pets Sake!

If you are a pet lover than you will love the idea the The Eleanor Sonsini Animal Shelter in Pittsfield Massachusetts has came up with! "Ante up for Animals" is what they will be doing on the top floor of the Crown Plaza Hotel! They have decided to hold a No Limit Texas Holdem poker tournament to raise money for the shelter.

There will be plenty of food and refreshments to keep you comfortable and alert while playing the charity tournament. The requested donation to participate in this event is $110. The majority of this donation will go towards the shelter and a certain amount will be taken out to purchase the VISA gift card that will go to the player that wins!

There was more than 60 people that pre-registered to play in this poker tournament to help raise cash for the cats! The biggest need the shelter has right now is in the feline area. The room they have now for the cats is no bigger than a small restroom and could fit 9 caged felines and 3 squished adults. Right now they have nearly 30 cats in kitty foster homes today, on the waiting list to move to the cat room at the shelter.

Needless to say, this is a great benefit all around! Having fun playing poker all the while giving back to the community and the animals that have been forgotten. Every pet deserves love and attention. Hopefully with the money raised will allow for the cat room to expand, give them an area without the stress of dogs and other animals, something close to home.
