Poker Dealer Choked When Man Becomes Angry
When most players go to the casino to play a little poker, they imagine having fun, drinking a few beers and hopefully taking home more money than they came in with.
A player might expect a little action especially if they continue playing well into the night but one thing they do not expect is to assault the dealer. But that is exactly what happened when a West Virginia man became more than a little angry at a poker dealer.
Police in Kanawha County, West Virginia are trying to obtain a warrant for the arrest of a sixty one year old man who allegedly choked a card dealer at the Tri-State Racetrack and Gaming Center.
The man was angry after he played in a poker game when the dealer told him he could not have his winnings immediately at the table. It was after midnight and the man supposedly walked around the table in a loud fashion and grabbed the dealer by the neck.
The floor boss immediately came to the dealer's defense and separated the man from the dealer. The security at the Track detained the man until police could arrive on the scene. Officers were forced to release the man after questioning and identifying him. They could not hold him as the police did not see the actual alleged crime occur.
Lt. Joe Savilla told the story of the incident above and also stated that the Magistrate would sign an arrest warrant. The suspect and victim have not been named in this case. This is the first time officers can recall that a violent attack has ever occurred at the Track. Savilla believes that the video surveillance system has something to do with that.
