Poker Player Arrested for connection with murders
The BC Poker Championship recently finished up and the winner was Sophon Sek. In a surprising turn of events, Sek was arrested just twenty four hours after winning the tournament for his alleged involvement in several murders.
The thirty year old poker player was arrested in connection with the Surrey Six slayings which took place in 2007. Sek was charged with manslaughter and breaking and entering. Sek may also face more charges in the future.
Howard Blank the Vice President of the Great Canadian Gaming Corporation commented: “The RCMP has informed us it is the same person who won our tournament and the RCMP has requested that the funds be held for his winnings. So the funds have not been issued to the winner. He was just one of many local players who came out.”
It is alleged that Sek let members of the Red Scorpion gang into the apartment complex where the murders took place in 2007. Sek has been associated with the gang, which has been involved in several murders in the area.
