Rash of Poker Game Robberies in Texas

Poker robberies have been prevalent over the past few months across the United States and now two more can be added to the list. Both robberies happened in the state of Texas, one in Houston and one in Austin.

The Houston robbery was a home game with $1/$2 buy-ins. The game was running longer than expected and at one point when the pot was about $8k a player went outside to smoke. When the player returned three masked men were right behind him. This robbery was posted by a forum poster at PocketFives and he says the smoker was not in on the robbery.

The poster went on to say that one man was hit over the head while he tried to hide his Rolex. The rest of the players were duck taped before one of their cars was stolen. Luckily the robbers were caught by police and all the money stolen was recovered. This would not be the case for the Austin robbery.

In the Austin poker game about $25,000 was on the table and the robbers managed to get away with all the money. Police have been unable to uncover any details or suspects in this case as the victim is not cooperating with them.
