Simon Charity Will Break Last Years Record

The poker community has come out again this year to support the Simon Poker Day which gives donations to the homeless. This second annual Simon Poker Day is being held in Dublin with seats that have been donated as part of PokerStars European Poker Tour.

This year's event has gained one hundred and sixty-two players and from estimates it appears that the Simon Poker Day will break last years collection amount. Last year for the Simon Poker Day the amount of funds collected to be used for the homeless was €50,000.

To this point in the European Poker Tour the Simon Poker Day figures appear as:

 
The Tournament amount donated: €16,200

Jackpot Club: amount donated:  €1,620

Players Donations:  amount donated:  €13,280

'Mad' Marty Wilson's auctions: amount donated:  €2,656

Green Joker Poker: amount donated: €600

Fortune Rooms:  amounts donated: €1,660 and £2,120

Paddy Power Poker:  amount donated:  €3,000

 
While this is only forty thousand, there are still other donations that are forthcoming at the European Poker Tour in Monte Carlo and the Irish Poker Championship seats as well as several corporate and individual pledges. 

In a show of support for the Simon Poker Day the Jackpot Club donated all their wages from the event.
