Snowshoe Mountain Poker Tournament

Texas Hold'em players are going to be playing for gamblers dream trip to Las Vegas at Snowshoe Mountain resort this weekend after the state lottery Commission officials noted that nothing was going to be wagered and there wasn't a buyin so the game was free to play.

The tournament is going to be sponsored by West Virginia Broadcasting.  Players will qualify for the tournament by calling in to radio stations.  The winner of the tournament will get $10,000 dollars so they can enter into the national tournament held in Las Vegas and their airfare so they can get from West Virginia to Nevada.

There will be more prizes awarded to other players in the tournament that don't take home first place.  John Melton, the Commission's attorney said that many charity events held around Roulette wheels and poker tables are illegal because there is an entry fee.

But the event is allowed to go forth because of a Supreme Court decision that said that gambling needs to be made of three things.  Chance, which this event has, a prize, which it also has and consideration or betting, this ingredient isn't in the event so it's ok to go forth.
