Full Tilt's 'aaalvin' took home more than $206,000 in the monthly $1-million Guaranteed. 'StudMaverick' of Poker Stars pocketed $171,445 in the Poker Stars Sunday Million. Party Poker's $300k Guaranteed awarded $43,400 to 'The_2_0ezx'.
The Full Tilt Poker monthly $1,000,000 Guaranteed tournament saw more entrants than expected, drawing a crowd of 2,252 poker players with a buy-in of $500+$35. So many participants drove the guaranteed $1-million prize pool to a staggering $1,126,000. The top 351 finishers would see their share of the $1.126 million, with the first place winner, 'aaalvin', awarded the largest prize of the day, $206,564.70.
Heading over to Poker Stars, the online poker room's Sunday Million, which has been receiving an outstanding turnout for the past few months now, saw yet another astonishing number of participants this weekend. With 7,520 entrant, the top 1,080 p[layers would take home their share of the $1 million guaranteed prize pool, which leapt to a generous $1,504,000 million. 'StudMaverick' went heads-up against 'macthemac67', holding a 7:1 chip lead. Stud's significant lead never faltered, eventually awarding him the firs place prize of $171,445.
The last notable stop on this weekend's high-cashing guaranteed tournaments was at Party Poker, where the weekly $300,000 Guaranteed tournament kicked off with a higher than expected turnout of 1,735 players. This jumped the prize pool up to $347,600. Barring any deal-making at the final table, first place was scheduled to award $67,665. Deal-making would end the night, however, as the last three competitors at the table, tightly stacked in chips, called it a night with the final results: 1st place 'The_2_0ezx', cashing $43,400, 2nd place 'lutkatutka' at $43,100, and 3rd place 'LordLuckbox', winning $42,063.50.
