Sunflower Children Poker Fundraiser to take place this month
The Sunflower Children Charity will be holding a poker fundraiser this month to help children around the world by sponsoring for medical, nutritional, psychological, educational, etc for orphaned, disabled, abandoned, refugee and impoverished children.
The fundraiser will be a poker tournament that will take place at Gotham Hall in New York City. The event is set for Friday November 21st and will be co hosted by Russell Simmons. Socialite Roberta Armani will be hosting the event.
Several celebrities are expected to be in attendance including: Ana Ortiz, Mark Indelico, Malinda Williams, Olympic Gold medalist Michael Phelps and poker pro Lee Childs. The event will also be hosted by its founder, supermodel Helena Houdova.
The charity has already helped many children since 1994. Twenty two projects in sixteen different countries have taken place during that time. Children have received aid in Brazil; a center for mentally challenged and handicapped children in South Africa has also been renovated by the charity.
The President and Founder of Sunflower Children, Helena Houdova commented on the upcoming poker fundraiser: "Fun in the name of compassion is what this event is all about.
