The Poker Alliance Wants Obama
They have been working with the camp of Barack Obama who is running in the 2008 election for President to arrange a meeting on this issue.
Recently it was discovered that Obama not only loves to play poker he has been working behind the scenes to have the ban on online poker lifted, and it was reported that he did not feel online poker was harmful to poker players.
The Poker Players Alliance has meetings scheduled during their fly-in from October 22nd to October 24th, with other politicians in Washington that represent some of the key districts.
One of these politicians is Robert Wexler a Democratic Representative of Florida, and was responsible for introducing the Poker and Skill gaming Protection Act earlier this summer. This Act would allow American poker players to play online, while games of skill are to be treated different than games of chance.
