WSOP 2005 Winner Arrested

During a recent gambling raid this last week, police officials of Tennessee arrested William Paul "Cigar" McKinney, past winner of the 2005 Seniors Event of the World Series of Poker. The raid was said to of taken place at the Hog Wild Saloon in Kingsport, Tennessee, where 16 people in total ended up being arrested and a total of $19,000 was seized by officials.

In the raid conducted, police also seized a large amount of other items being used in the operation, such as poker chips, betting slips, as well as decks of cards.

Donnie Godsey, the owner of the Hog Wild Saloon will be subject to charges including aggravated gambling promotion. McKinney who also faces similar charges as Godsey, as it has been alleged that McKinney was one of the organizers of the operation that was in progress.

Allegedly, McKinney also had in his possession at the time of the raid conducted by police, a number of pills that police found on him when the raid took place. So, along with the other charges, McKinney could also be facing a possession of schedule III narcotics charge.

Online gaming isn't the only form of gambling that is in the spotlight right now, with recent raids and arrest that have taken place.
