WSOP Oldest Winner Arrested

Holding the record as the oldest bracelet winner for the World Series of Poker, Paul McKinney was arrested in Tennessee on Friday at a raid made by police on a poker game.


Police who made the arrest said that they were able to seize playing cards and an amount in cash almost totaling $20,000, along with poker chips and betting slips from the weekends gambling events with McKinney and 15 others that were playing.


McKinney and one other player was charged with gambling and aggravated gambling promotion on suspicion of organzing and promoting the event. McKinney was also charged with possession of Schedule III narcotics after police found pills in his pockets. The rest of the players being charged with gambling.


McKinney was releasted later the same day of the arrest on a $3,250 bond.


Winning the World Series of Poker bracelet in 2005, taking down the Seniors Event, McKinney is a long time poker veteran. No other winnings have been recorded for McKinney since his big 2005 win of the WSOP.


It will be interesting to see how the outcome of this arrest pans out. A court date as of yet has not been set, according to reports.
