World Poker Store Adds Bar Poker League to Netherlands
The World Poker Store recently announced that an agreement had been signed between them and Play It Simpel. Play It Simpel is the creator of the poker reality television show Poker Kampioen Van Nederland, which airs in the Netherlands. The Play It Simpel poker league will now become The Bar Poker League.
Since early this year the Play It Simpel league has been running Texas Hold’em tournaments in the Netherlands. They have grown to play in two hundred venues and two hundred thousand players registered. The contestants in the league play to win a chance to appear on the television show.
The Play It Simpel league will change to the Bar Poker League in February 2009. The television show will continue to be produced in the Netherlands and a new show will be created from The Bar Poker League running in Germany.
"Adding an established and rapidly growing league in the Netherlands and a TV show to our German league, which begins play next month, will establish The Bar Poker League as the preeminent league in all of Europe. Our agreement with Play It Simpel is a springboard to rapid growth for The Bar Poker League in Europe," said Chuck Chastain, World Poker Store CEO.
Members of the World Poker Store advisory board, which is made up of pro poker players, includes: Phil Hellmuth, Marcel Luske, Patrik Antonius, Johnny Chan, Hoyt Corkins and Liz Lieu.
