Boxing superstar Evander Holyfield has inked an endorsement deal that will have him promote online poker room RealDealPoker.com. Real Deal Poker is known for being the only online poker room that uses real cards for online play.

The partnership between Real Deal Poker and Holyfield was a natural one. Holyfield, the former World Heavyweight champion in boxing, was known around the world by his nickname, “The Real Deal.”

“There are no random number generators here,” said Gene Gioia, founder of Real Deal Poker. “Our revolutionary technology uses real cards, can be audited, and leaves no question about the fairness of games. We have accomplished what no one thought was possible: to deal real cards in an online environment.”

Holyfield himself also made a statement, attributing his endorsement to the site’s practice of using real cards during game play.

“Real cards being dealt online - why didn’t someone think of this sooner? If I’m playing poker, I like to know I am playing with real cards and not just a computer. RealDealPoker.com is a poker room I’m very proud to be associated with,” Holyfield said.

Holyfield will begin making appearances for Real Deal Poker almost immediately. He will play with Gioia in the Ante Up for Africa Charity Tournament on July 3, before playing in the World Series of Poker’s Main Event, which begins July 5.

In the world of boxing, Evander Holyfield (42-8-2, 27 KOs) is best known as a five-time World Heavyweight champion. However, he is also a former undisputed World Cruiserweight champion, and also won a bronze medal in the Light Heavyweight division of the 1984 Summer Olympics. Currently, Holyfield is the WBF heavyweight champion, which – though a lightly regarded title – gives him his fifth championship title in the heavyweight division.

RealDealPoker.com uses a unique automated shuffling system that uses real physical cards to determine each hand of online poker played on the site. Players can actually see the machines shuffling the cards and dealing them out, ensuring that actual cards are being used, rather than ones determined by a random number generator.
