Online Casino Worker Arrested for Taking Cut

Yoshiaki Takahashi a resident of Hanamigawa-ku, Chiba as been accused of accepting money gained from crimes in an incident involving an internet casino group taking a cut from profits earned by a Kyoto Internet café. The café operator earned money from customers who gambled on the casino site.

Mr. Takahashi was quoted later telling investigators, I didn't know the money was part of proceeds from illegal gambling." He denied the allegations during the questioning.

He received a total of 16 million yen according to the Kyoto Prefectural Police investigators. This money was a percentage of the total earned by the internet café operator from customers who gambled there.

The leader of the group operating the online casino site, who is a U.S. national, has been placed on a wanted list.
