After a long period of talks and negotiations, Sportingbet annunced that the talks regarding the takeover of Bwin, an Australian Internet Bookmaker site, have come to an end with both parties stating it was with mutual consent.

There have been several proposals between the two companies in an attempt to consolidate the two operations and continue to grow in the internet bookmaking industry but in the end nothing seemed to be the right solution to this goal.

Sportingbet have 2.5 million registered clients in over 200 countries and all together place over a million bets a day. They own and operate sportsbooks, online bingo sites, online casino sites as well as the online poker room, Paradise Poker.

Bwin takes over 8,000 bets daily and currently has Europe's largest betting line ups. They take betting action on over 80 sports and across 20 different languages.
