Additional Withdrawals For NETeller
A low level court established that Victor Chandler CEO Michael Carlton was in violation of Israeli law by operating a website for gambling to an Israeli audience. A Tel Aviv court upheld this ruling in late June, even though Victor Chandler is registered, run, and supported abroad. The Victor Chandler website was determined to be illegally targeting Israel's residents.
The original judge ruled the company was violating laws banning the advertising of illegal gambling and was specifically targeting Israeli users with Hebrew-language content and the option to bet on Israeli sports teams. The higher court in Tel Aviv sustained that ruling, solidifying the nation's stance on online gambling in Israel.
Following the case, NETeller is choosing to stop processing transfers to online gambling merchants for residents of Israel, as it did for the United States residents after the UIGEA was enacted late last year.
The changes being made are as follows:
NETeller will cease processing transfers to online gambling merchants for residents of Israel effective from 12:01 a.m. (GMT) July 19.
NETeller will cease processing transfers from online gambling merchants to residents of Israel within two weeks, effective 11:59 p.m. (GMT) July 31.
Israeli customers will still be able to use their NETeller accounts for any non-gambling money transfers and withdrawals, and local funding options will continue to be available.
"Customers located in other parts of the world are not affected by this change, and NETeller continues to service these customers in a normal manner," the company said.
