Governor Renegs - PPA Campaigns
The PPA has 760,000 members in Kentucky. However, this campaign is
not limited to PPA members. This campaign will focus efforts on all
Kentucky poker players, and encourage them to contact not only the
Governor but also other state and local politicians to promote
legalization of poker playing within the state. In a push to persuade
the Governor to change his anti-poker mind set, Muny said several
hundred e-mails had already been sent to the Governor's office and they
will continue that effort.
In a comment from State Director Muny, projecting his disdain for
the decision, he said "Governor Fletcher is running not on his
achievements of the past four years but on a campaign of distraction. "
Muny concluded, "In the process, Fletcher has demonized the good folks
who enjoy the game of poker. Indiana has casinos with card rooms, built
right on Kentucky's borders, as do other states. Kentucky deserves to
keep this revenue in our own state for the benefit of our own citizens.
Additionally, our citizens deserve the freedom to choose to play a hand
of poker."
