New Rules Set At EIG Expo

At the EIG Expo a code of conduct was discussed that covered problems with online gambling and poker such as underage gamblers, protection for online players, and customer communication.

This even is one of the largest gatherings of operators, developers and action groups like iMEGA, this meeting in Barcelona comes after the UK has made some changes including television advertising of online gambling sites. The UK Gambling Commission has their white list in hopes of protecting online players to some extent.

Andrew Poole who is the managing director of GameCare Trade Services spoke, he stated that with the adoption of rules the public who gambles online will be able to make more informed decisions about their remote gambling interaction. He also stated that online gamblers should be more sheltered with online operators being licensed that require the operator to protect their employees as well as their online customers.

These rules or code of ethics to protect online players, that that was discussed is a joint effort that has been in discussion for several months by several groups who are concerned with promoting online gambling as safe for the online gambler ; GamCare, eCOGRA and the Remote Gambling Association.
