Online Gambling Watching iMEGA Before iGaming Expo
IMEGA is challenging the United States government over the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, and the fact that it is unconstitutional to enforce on American citizens. A United States Judge, Honorable Judge Cooper is set to render a decision next few weeks, and also dismissed the motion by the U.S. attorney to dismiss the case, as iMEGA did not have the right to bring this case. This attorney went on to state the ULIGEA was not put into law to hamper American's from gambling online.
During the hearing, the government attorney Jacqueline Coleman Snead is said to have sat alone, and at times seemed intimidated up against the two attorney's representing IMEGA and the representatives of the association who were present.
The president of iMEGA Edward Leyden and the founder of Gambling911.com Christopher Costigan will be speakers at the European I-Gaming Congress and Expo. They will be on a panel to discuss the Unlawful Internet Gambling Entertainment Act.
While Leyden states that his Association feels they presented a very strong case there will be many attending this function that feel he will be offering some of the most insightful information and it is not only the online operators who are awaiting this decision, shareholders of the publicly traded online gaming companies are also anxious to hear the verdict of this US Judge.
