Svenska Spel To Introduce AI Anti-Problem Gambling Software

According to reports on Radio Sweden, Svenska Spel, a Swedish government online gambling organization, will be introducing a new anti-problem gambling software developed with advanced artificial intelligence. The software was developed by Sweden's ICU Intelligence firm to thwart problem gambling online.

Jesper Kärrbrink, CEO of Svenska Spel, told the radio station that the new system analyzes how players place wagers, how much money is wagered, how often and under what circumstances. Currently the system is designed to monitor Internet gambling by players using their personal Svenska Spel betting cards, and it's use is voluntary.

By gathering play-by-play information from individuals with and without a known gambling problem, the software can compare results to identify the beginning stages of addiction before a serious problem occurs. According to ICU, extensive testing has revealed the system discovers gambling habits approximately 90% of the time.

Upon recognition of a problem gambler, Svenska Spel has pledged to cease marketing to the individual, encourage them to realize developing habit and it's cost, as well as urging them to take a gambling addiction test.

The player is also offered a chance for self-exclusion from all Svenska Spel betting products.
