Sweden to Tax Gaming Portals
It is their understanding that the sites that provide gambling related content and links to gambling are paid for or by every player who clicks through. The local officials say they believe there is a massive amount of undeclared income allowing operators to evade taxes.
Dag Hardyson, national project leader for the Tax board's internet unit stated "It's not individual poker players we are after, it's the sites who live on sending players through to gaming sites."
The board has expressed their intent to enforce tax laws on undeclared earnings, and as they see necessary, prosecute those in violation.
