Five Million Spent to Stop Gambling in Pennsylvania

Five million dollars worth of grants are soon to be distributed to local jurisdictions in order to help eliminate illegal gambling in statewide private clubs.  These clubs serve as an integral part of the community and fund various activities and charitable causes, especially ones where children are involved.

All of this is now occurring at a time when legalized gambling is at the ground breaking stage in South Bethleham.  The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board is continuing to go after private clubs.  It is going to be taxpayers money that will be disbursed to eliminate petty activities, such as dice rolling, Super Bowl pools and poker machines.

Local police could use this money for additional staffing or raises for those already on the force but instead the police are going to be spending their time seizing poker machines and a few dollars that would ultimately benefit the communities around the area.
