MySpace and World Poker Tour Join Forces
World Poker Tour and the social community of MySpace have joined forces to create the first fully integrated poker channel for MySpace users. The new site will be called ClubWPT and will feature poker content for poker fans that includes free poker and news about World Poker Tour players.
Members must pay a monthly fee of less than twenty dollars but with that fee comes great reward. Players will have access to tournaments and events where they can win sweepstakes prizes and cash worth more than one hundred thousand dollars each month. These sweepstakes are free to enter.
ClubWPT will have tips from professional poker players as well as player profiles, video clips and tournament news. The site will also feature behind-the-scenes from the World Poker Tour and a new ClubWPT television series.
The founder, president and chief executive officer of the World Poker Tour, Steve Lipscomb, stated: “Poker and social networking have separately reached and engaged people around the word in ways like nothing we’ve seen before. As poker continues to see major growth across the globe, this partnership meets the demand for a poker experience that appeals to enthusiasts of all levels by connecting consumers in one unique, fully-integrated gaming and entertainment environment.”
MySpace has millions of users so the decision for the World Poker Tour to work with them to create the new ClubWPT website was a smart decision and it should gain them many new members for their new site.
