Yosh Nakano Launches Facebook Poker App Pokeriety
Yosh Nakano, founder and CEO of the International Poker Players Association, recently announced the launch of Pokeriety, a new Facebook poker app. The game allows players to play Texas Hold’em on Facebook, while also incorporating many of the social networking aspects of Facebook.
Pokeriety offers several unique features that may make it of interest to poker fans. Players can form teams through social networking, create their own customizable avatars, and play with friends in private game rooms. Online chat is available during game play as well.
"As an experienced player, I wanted to take social networking to the next level by giving players the ability to create their own teams, promote camaraderie and incorporate the grassroots aspect of Facebook," Nakano said.
Nakano is a professional poker player who is perhaps best known as the winner of CBS’ 2006 Intercontinental Poker Championship. Nakano also has several other notable finishes, including seven cashes at the World Series of Poker. In total, he has won over $660,000 in tournament poker.
According to Nakano, Pokeriety is a part of the IPPA’s growth strategy, which also includes the launch of their poker lifestyle website, IPPAGlobal.com. In addition, the IPPA is hosting the Monte Carlo IPPA Championship this December, a tournament which is offering $12 million in prizes, including $5 million to the winner.
Pokeriety is currently available on Facebook. Information on the program can also be obtained on Twitter by following @Pokeriety, or at the program’s website, Pokeriety.com.
According to the IPPA website, The International Poker Players Association Global (IPPA) exists to promote custom, mixed-game poker tournaments and to support and broaden the base of top level mixed game players.
