PartyPoker Premier League Third Season Set for Late November
PartyPoker recently announced that the third season of the PartyPoker Premier League will begin in London on the 24th of November and continue until the 30th. The buy-in for the event will be increased to $75,000 and added money rose to $350,000. This will create a total prize pool of $1.25 million.
PartyPoker was not planning on bringing the League back until 2009 but popular demand insisted otherwise. During the series twelve of the best poker players in the world will play in a unique league format. All players will compete six times in the preliminary stages.
The top four players will then move on to the final table and the next four in line will battle for the last two seats. They will compete in heads-up play to see who will move on to the final table. PartyPoker has also announced that League II winner, Andy Black, has been automatically invited back to defend the title.
In the near future, the last eleven names will be released. The Head of Online Gaming at Matchroom Sport-who created the series, Eddie Hearn, stated: "The Premier League is now established internationally as poker’s number one TV show. The worldwide ratings and distribution have exceeded all expectations and the demand is such that we have decided to hold another Premier League event this year. We are delighted to welcome last year's champion Andy Black back to the League and we will now sit down and hand pick the remainder of the chosen 12. There isn't a poker player on the planet that doesn’t want to be part of this event."
