Poker After Dark Will be Filmed at the Golden Nugget
The ever popular Poker After Dark television show produced by NBC will begin their 2009 season at the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. It was just announced today the Golden Nugget has signed an agreement with the producers of the show to host the series.
From October 26th through November 5th, the television series will be filmed at The Grand, the newest events center on the Golden Nugget property. Poker After Dark is an hour long show and the first sixty episodes will be shot during this time. The show currently has a new host, Leeann Tweeden, a model.
The show allows viewers to see the “behind the scenes” action of a poker game with the added bonus of being able to watch their favorite players duke it out for a win. Poker pros will be battling in such games as 6-handed, winner-take-all freezeouts and high stakes cash games.
During the week, the show will feature how a match is developed, and then a winner will be shown every Friday night. On the next night, Saturday, viewers will get a recap of the previous week’s highlights from the director’s cut. The host, Tweeden, will sit down with that week’s winner and get the lowdown and how they won that match.
The cash games will be even more exciting this year as only the best players will be competing while wagering large amounts of their own money to try and win the pot, which will be in the six figure range. The new season of Poker After Dark will begin on December 29th of this year, with a different show every day and the Saturday night show airing after Saturday Night Live.
