Sky Poker Premieres New Reality Show
The new reality show, Total Player, recently debuted on Sky Poker this past weekend. The show is based on following poker mentors and eighteen candidates they pick. The mentors will be trying to make the candidates into professional poker players during the thirteen week series.
Matt Broughton, Ex-cricketer Ed Giddens and David Tuckman, poker analyst, will be deciding which candidates will be moving to the next round. The voting public will pick the eventual winner. Sky Poker’s fifty best cash game, MTT and SNG players were chosen to be picked by the mentors. The mentors pick six players each and each week the candidates must finish challenges to move on in the competition.
The eventual winner of the show will earn buy-ins for three tournaments. The tournament prizes are: a £100 tournament, a £1,000 buy-in tournament, and a $10,000 buy-in for the World Series of Poker Main Event 2010.
Des Duffy, the head of poker at Sky Betting and Gaming commented: “Total Player will contain everything that has made Sky Poker so popular: it will deliver a great deal of excitement and opportunity to our playing community; an educational element; and, of course, the chance to win big. I’m particularly excited that Total Player will offer Sky Poker players at all levels, an opportunity to showcase their potential and realize a dream of sitting with some of the biggest names in world poker."
