2009 Manila Event Announced by APT
The Asian Poker Tour has announced their first event to take place in the New Year. The 2009 Manila Event will take place on January 27th through February 1st at Dusit Thani Manila Hotel in Makati, Philippines.
The Tour has planned to organize at least four major events for the 2009 Asian Poker Tour. Players interested in the January event can pay the $2,500 buy in or contact their local and online poker rooms to find out about scheduled satellites.
It was back in May that the APT hosted an event in the Philippines. Over three hundred players from all around the globe participated in the event and organizers are hoping for an even better turnout this year. The same venue will be used next year as it was this year.
The Chief Executive Officer for the Asian Poker Tour, Chris Parker, stated: “The APT has already held two major events this year, APT Philippines and APT Macau. After consultation with players, online partners and sponsors a comprehensive schedule is now being planned for 2009 to successfully meet the needs of all concerned. We are looking forward to enhancing poker's presence in Asia.”
The Asian Poker Tour also announced that they would be announcing more information on the major events of the Tour for 2009 later this month. Poker has continued to grow in the Asian market and the APT is one strong reassurance of that.
