Andy Teng Wins GUKPT
The eighth leg of the Grosvenor U.K. Poker Tour took place last weekend with just a little over two hundred players vying for the top spot and the large first place prize. Outlasting the field was twenty three year old online poker pro, Andy Teng who won the event.
Teng was up against another online poker pro in heads-up play. Jamie Brown was holding his own against Teng with $1.8 million chips starting out against Teng’s $400,000 chips. Onlookers believed that Brown would have the game in the bag with the substantial chip lead but that would prove to be untrue.
Both twentysomethings battled and Teng gained chips as he doubled up when he received a flush draw against Brown’s trip kings. After about two hours play the match would end when Teng would raise with pocket eights. Brown moved all in and was called by Teng. Brown flipped over his pocket fours and it was all over. Brown would not receive any help from the board and Teng would take the win.
