Dennis Phillips Announces Chip Leader Challenge
As the World Series of Poker Main Event Final Table is about to begin, players are most likely warming up on their skills. The current chip leader, Dennis Phillips, has decided to hold a warm-up event so players can prepare for the final table as well as have fun.
Final table play will resume on November 9th so the challenge is set to take place on the 7th. The event is called The $10,000 Dennis Phillips Chipleader Challenge and will take place at the Hard Rock Casino in Las Vegas. The event will be limited to twenty players and each table winner will take home $50,000. The final two players standing will play heads up and the winner will receive $150,000.
Players who have confirmed their participation in the event are, Phillips, David Benyamine, Erica Schoenberg, Roy Winston and Hoyt Corkins. The buy-in to the event includes an after party. The players will sign the felt from the two tables and it will be auctioned off to charity.
Phillips commented on the event: “This special tournament will be a good mix of some of the best poker players in the world and high-profile amateurs. It will give me a chance to brush up on my single-table strategy while still allowing me to have a good time.”
