DuplicatePoker.com Announces Duplicate Poker World Champ.

DuplicatePoker.com has announced the launch of their first ever Duplicate Poker World Championship.  This inaugural completion is going to try to find out who is the best poker player in the world by using their Duplicate Poker format. 

DupicatePoker.com has created a twist in poker to limit the luck of the draw, cards from the same deck are dealt to each table in the tournament.  Players are ranked against other players that are dealt the same hand to see who plays it "best".

Good news for US players is that Duplicate Poker is considered a game of skill and not chance so it is legal to play in most jurisdictions of the United States.  The Duplicate Poker World Championship will combine live and online poker.

Members that want a chance at the championship can earn their way in by playing qualifying rounds that started running on February 4th and will continue for 30 consecutive weeks through September 14th.  On September 14th the first round of regional online tournaments will take place.

The regional round will be divided into six geographical regions that will have 180 total players.  The quarterfinals will follow and are also going to be played online.  The quarterfinal players will still be placed on regional teams with seven players in each team.

Finalists will win a complete travel package that includes their airfare, accommodations and meals.  The championship round will be scored individually and as a team.  The exact location of the final event and dates will be announced soon.

To get your seat in the Duplicate World Championship you have to make the top of the weekly Duplicate Poker Tournament Leader Board  during one of the qualifying weeks.
