The European Poker Tour Prague stop has ended with Czech student Jan Skampa taking home the win. The twenty three year old student outlasted the entire field of 584 players to face Eyal Avitan in heads up play. In the end Skampa earned €682,000 for the first place win.

Heads up play lasted for about three hours before Skampa would earn the large first place prize. Just two weeks ago Skampa earned a fourth place finish at the EPT Vilamoura stop. Skampa won a good size prize at that time too but nothing compared to his win in Prague.

The Main Event of the Prague tournament had a buy-in of €5,250 and with so many players competing; a large prize pool was created. With the win Skampa became the first ever Czech EPT winner. Commenting on the win, Skampa stated: “It feels great to win. It’s my fourth EPT and I won it in my home town- that must be one of the greatest accomplishments you can have in poker.”
