Falling out first would be McKeever, when he moved all in with K-Q and was called by O’Donoghue who made a full house out of his 5-5 when the board came Q-7-5-Q-10. McKeever’s trip Queens could not beat O’Donoghue’s Full House. Corrway was out next when he went all in with pocket queens only to be out done by Taylor’s pocket aces.
Blackmore would be next, going all in with pocket tens against O’Donoghue who had pocket Jacks. Not far behind would be O’Brien who went all in with pocket sixes against Power who had A-7. The board would read K-K-3-9-9 giving no help to O’Brien. Butters would be next followed by Duvall shortly out behind him.
Power had held his own for some time now but it his luck would soon run out as runner-runner on the turn and river and created an Ace high flush for Taylor. Taylor then knocked out O’Donoghue with pocket fours and moved on the heads up play against la Rochelle. Outlasting the Frenchman, Taylor would take home the first place prize of €46,000.
