Nancy Cartwright Hosts 3rd Annual Monte Carlo Night
The voice of Bart Simpson, Nancy Cartwright, will hold the Third Annual Monte Carlo Night and Texas Hold'em Tournament in her home on September 20th. The event will benefit a local youth program called the LAPD Devonshire Police Activity League Supporters. This charity helps keep at risk kids involved in positive activities and away from trouble.
The event costs $500 dollars a ticket to gain entry into the tournament and the all day party at Cartwright’s home in Northridge, California. Those who would like to just enjoy the party and watch the poker tournament can pay only $250 dollars per ticket.
Several celebrities and professional poker players are expected to attend. Poker Pros include: Jennifer Harmon, Todd Brunson, Sammy Farha, Marco Traniello, Men Van Nguyen, Kenna James, Marsha Waggoner, Kristy Gazes, Barbara Enright and Mary Jones. Celebrities signed up for the event are: Brad Garrett, Sinbad, Mickey Dolenz, Kirstie Alley and Camryn Manheim.
The top finishers in the event will win a seat to a World Series of Poker satellite event, which could earn them more money in the long run. The event will also have games, a band, magicians, silent auctions, a raffle and a live auction.
Cartwright stated this when asked why she uses a poker tournament to raise money for the charity PALS:
"When you look at the entertainment community, these actors and celebrities in film and television, I know a lot of guys who love to play poker. I've got a lot of friends that do that. And when I started look into it, I found out that generally speaking, poker players are pretty generous. They do this quite a bit. There are all kinds of charities that poker players get involved with."
Players interested in the event will find more information on the Devonshire PALS website. More information on the poker tournament, casino night and ticket purchases can be found there.
