Par Wennstrom Wins 2007 Everest Poker European Cup
Out of the 200 players who had qualified for the EPEC, only 185 showed up to play this two-day event, which was held at the Casino Vilamoura in Portugal.
Although Pär Wennström started out slow, there was a quick turn during the opening day and Wennström ended up with a huge chip lead when play ended for the evening.
This young yet talented 19-year-old played a solid game of poker during the second day and when the final table begun, Wennström was in third place.
Although Wennström had to end up facing Richard Dutour from France, Wennström was able to turn things around once Dutour had bluffed his chips away.
In the end, Pär Wennström was named the 2007 Everest Poker European Cup Champ.
"It feels amazing. When we broke for dinner yesterday I would have been glad to finish in the top 100," stated Wennström. Well, lucky for him, he did much better then that.
