PokerStars Announces LAPT Season Two Opening Event

PokerStars has announced that Season Two of their Latin American Poker Tour will begin in San Jose November 3rd through the 5th. The event will take place at the Ramada Plaza in San Jose, Costa Rica at the Herradura Conference Center.

This event will have a guaranteed prize pool of $1 million which will have players posting a $3,700 buy-in. the $1 million prize pool is almost $35,000 more than last year’s event. The buy-ins has been raised for all LAPT events to $3,500 plus $200 and the Championship will have a $5,000 plus $200 buy-in.

The Latin American Poker Tour President Glenn Cademartori commented on Season Two: “PokerStars LAPT Season One was defined by ground breaking debut success. Season Two will be defined by growth and expansion as we fully spread the tour across Latin America. We were so overwhelmed with the success of LAPT Season One, that we wanted to come back with Season Two straight away, moving it into the high-season for Latin American tourism.”

Cademartori also stated that the tour will run from November to April. Satellites are now available at PokerStars, where players can win a prize package which includes a main event buy-in, four night’s hotel accommodations and money for expenses.

Last year’s San Jose event attracted almost four hundred players which included members of Team PokerStars and those who qualified online. This year is sure to attract those same players as well as many new faces.
