Shane Warne and Joe Hachem to Host Tournament
Former cricket star, Shane Warne and professional poker player Joe Hachem will be hosting a charity poker tournament to raise money for the Shane Warne Foundation. Both men are Australian so what better place to hold a tournament than the Crown Casino in Melbourne.
The event will take place on October 27th and all proceeds will benefit the Shane Warne Foundation which takes care of sick and underprivileged children. Hachem and Warne will kick off the event a 5:30 with a “learn to play” poker instruction session and the tournament itself will begin at 7pm. The tournament has a guaranteed first place prize of $25,000 with buy-in at $1,000 with $500 rebuys.
Other celebrities will be on hand to enjoy the festivities and raise money for charity. Those set to attend are: Danny Frawley, Dermott Brereton, Simon Marshall, Sarita Stella, Luke Hodge, Brodie Holland, Kevin Muscat, Grant Smilie, Brian McFadden and Jeff Fenech. This is just a short list of those who will be in attendance.
During the night there will also be a celebrity auction with poker themed items up for grabs. The funds earned from the auction will go toward the Shane Warne Foundation as well. Shane has been playing poker for some time now and recently stated how much he enjoys it. Now he takes that enjoyment and uses it to help others.
