Strip Poker Series NHPC Qualifier

Feb 20, 2008
Author: Rebecca Rosales

The "Strip Poker" series in Las Vegas was at Caesar's Palace for the qualifier event.  This was the only live qualifying event for a seat into the 2008 NBC National Heads Up Poker Championship (NHPC).  Hooman Nizkad took home the seat from this qualifier event, after taking on 79 pro's and amateurs.

The NBC National Heads Up Poker Championship is limited to only 64 players and is also an invitation only tournament so all of the players that were at the tournament last year won't all be able to get a seat this year.  So there were alot of big name professional poker players ponying up the $500 buyin for this event to try and get another chance at NHPC title.

At the end of the qualifier it was Nikzad and Carl Cox competing for the seat but Nikzad won the first place prize, a seat in the NBC National Heads Up Poker Championship worth $20,000 and $1,000 in cash.  Carl Cox got almost $10,400 for his second place finish
