UKIPT Manchester Won by Joeri Zandvliet
PokerStars UK & Ireland Poker Tour stopped recently in Manchester and hosted a main event with a buy-in of £550. The tournament was a tough stop full of the best competitors, as 518 players competed for the title. End the end it was a twenty one year old Dutch college student who would take the title.
The tournament took three days to complete and each day play would go into late levels. The final table would see big names including Chris Brammar and Dean Lyall. Lyall looked to be the one to beat but too many drinks and penalties led him to be eliminated.
In the end it would be Joeri Zandvliet and Jack Ellwood who would compete in heads up play. The final hand would see both players all in with Ellwood holding Ace-Queen versus Zandvliet’s pocket nines. A queen appeared on the flop but a nine on the river secured the victory for Zandvliet and he would become the tour stop winner.
The next stop on the tour is in April in Coventry. This stop will take place from the 8th to the 11th and players can earn their spot at PokerStars via qualifiers.
